Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on November 12th that it will participate in ‘Electronica 2024’* to unveil its next generation electronic component technology. Electronica is the world’s largest trade fair for electronic components, with more than 3,000 exhibitors from global electronic component companies and more than 80,000 visitors and will be held from November 12 to 15 in Munich, Germany.
* The world’s largest trade fair for electronic components
Samsung Electro-Mechanics will exhibit MLCC/FCBGA for AI/server, MLCC/camera module for automotive electronics, etc. With the recent growth of the AI/server market and the electrification of automobiles, the MLCC load capacity and market demand are continuously increasing.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics will introduce MLCC products that utilize industry-leading small size/ultra-high-capacity technology accumulated from IT products and high reliability technology for automotive electronics, as well as next generation package substrate technologies such as △2.1D package substrate, △embedded substrate, and △glass substrate, which are evolving in line with the trend of high-performance semiconductors. Samsung Electro-Mechanics will also showcase high-performance camera modules required for the advancement of autonomous driving technology and the expansion of electric vehicles. Based on its technology and inherent capabilities related to cameras for IT, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will present automotive-specific solutions such as all-season, all-weather, high-reliability camera modules and high-pixel cameras.
At the exhibition, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will share its roadmap and mid- to long-term vision for AI and automotive products, which are key growth drivers for Samsung Electro-Mechanics, through meetings with major automobile manufacturers and server-related customers.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Chang Duckhyun will also visit the exhibition to interact with customers and share technology trends and future plans. CEO Chang is expected to emphasize the importance of components and materials as the market, which has been dominated by smartphones, shifts to electric vehicles, autonomous driving, servers and networks, and later to humanoids, aerospace and energy.
Electronica is the world’s largest electronic components exhibition held every two years since 1964, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics has participated in every event since 2002 to showcase its industry-leading electronic components technology and communicate with customers.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, Electronica is the center of innovation that is shaping the future of the global electronics industry. Under the theme “All Electric Society,” the event will feature exhibits and conferences on key technologies for a sustainable energy future, including renewable energy, electric vehicles, and smart grids, as well as innovative products and services in automotive electronics, semiconductors, embedded systems, communications, networks, and more.
